Our story
Vortex Manufacturing began as a division of Vortex Fluid Systems which was founded in 1995 to design and build high-performance equipment for the drilling and mining industries.
In 2015, owners Grant Young and Ray Young partnered with Tom Nguyen (then operations manager) to launch Vortex Manufacturing as a dedicated custom-manufacturing arm that leveraged Vortex Fluid Systems’ engineering experience, facility, and resources. Over the following decade, Vortex built a reputation for weld quality, reliability, and customer service, supporting its parent company and evolving into a semi-independent operation with its own clients.
In 2023, Tom and partners purchased Vortex Manufacturing and established it as a wholly independent, privately owned company with Tom serving as CEO. In 2025, the company relocated its headquarters and shop to a facility featuring 27,000 sq. ft. of shop floor and 2 acres of yard/laydown area, positioning Vortex for expanded capacity and larger project work.
Throughout its evolution, Vortex Manufacturing has remained committed to its founding principles: uncompromising quality, customer service, and integrity.
